Funny, before looking at the menu I was hungry. Now I'm calling the boystown national hotline with a fricking gun to my head.

we had the cheese sticks which were "homemade" and they were really good, i ordered the chicken philly and my friend got the pasta and both were good and they will be seeing me more as i appreciate a new place with great staff very friendly staff to us. btw their signature sauce is awesome gives u that extra kick

There's nothing inherently wrong with that location.

The previous restaurant there was making bank until one of the owners died.

i've always thought that as well, but that spot has been occupied by several different places that didn't stay open for one reason or another.

tons of competition from established places selling lots of similar menu items that are real close by...i wonder if they've got a lunch menu? if so, i'll give them a try.

There's only one location in BR that I'm convinced is cursed.

The restaurant behind the Mobility Depot at Essen and I-10. By some miracle, there are now hotels next to it, but the intersection of One Calais and Essen is the mother of all clusterfricks.

yeah, one calais & essen is an absolute miserable traffic spot..i think louisiana pizza kitchen was originally located behind the gas station.

another location in br that seemed cursed, and finally gave up several years ago was the spot at the tiger bend/jefferson split...it's now some sort of international foods grocery store i think, but i never see any traffic there.

mirror steak house, berthelots, and a few others that i can't remember tried and failed at that locale.

I totally agree with this. Somehow, that needs to be fixed or taken out with the next I-10 expansion (and that will come soon enough)

what is the point in that, afreaux ?? 98% of the customers had NO clue the guy died .. if any business' success or failure is tied to one person .. that's a flawed model ..

The family completely withdrew from managing the restaurant when he died. Rather than being managed by another owner, it was entirely managed by one of the waiters. To say that his death had a profound effect on the family and all of their restaurants and other businesses is a major understatement.

One of the main reasons why they closed shop was because they wanted to buy a property with a bigger parking lot to accommodate patrons, and stop leasing. The place stayed open on cruise control with no real management. They're business hadn't suffered at all from "bad location", this I can promise you.

Tim and his son are in for a wild ride on this one.. Expect to see some serious cost-saving-corner-cutting-gerry-rigging before all is said and done.

The last two times I ate at Los Gallos I got some insane food poisoning. I'm guessing the waitermanager wasn't up to snuff on food safety.

Could be.

Won't happen if you eat at La Tiendita down the street.
