LSU was snake-bitten last year.

Here's why I think LSU was snake-bitten...

PP interception against Bama...

Onside kick against Ole Miss: PP's right toe could not have been out by more than 2".

Injuries to JJ, Charles Scott, and KW occurred at critical times in ball games. Nobody can tell me that there isn't a difference between your first string RB and your third string.

Lafell continued to drop passes last year...

Offensive PI against Florida. Yes, "Nuts" says we still would have lost that game 6-3, but I think your play-calling has to change if your down 3 as opposed to 10.

Bad weather against Penn State. That field played right into the hands of Penn State. It negated our speed and quickness, and let Penn State use their size.

It just seemed like the other team, no matter who we were playing, had the right play called at exactly the right time(See Patrick Peterson against Bama).

I don't think that trend can continue this year. The more I look at last year, the more excited I get about this upcoming year.

So OL play and the QB play were less important than all of those?

I completely agree with this

Good and bad breaks are part of the game. We lost because we didn't execute and the teams that beat us did.

Good post and I agree. It's not like we got our asses kicked. The Tigers could have won every game we lost last year. This is why I am very hopeful for this year.

I like the point about all of the karma going our way in 2007.....it just seemed like we couldn't be kept out of the Superdome at the end of that season (even with 2 losses, unheard of).

Two years of making up for that, perhaps this is where it all turns around. I'm in

I hope you're right. And you can call me a nega-tiger if you'd like, but the "luck" argument cuts both ways.

Miss State: 30-26 win.
required goal line stand (twice).
They ran all over us:
First downs: MSU 21 LSU 13
Rushing Yds: MSU 151 LSU 30
Total Off: MSU 364 LSU 264

Georgia:
Wacky late touchdown/penalty - not saying we didn't deserve the win, but there was definitely luck involved.

La Tech:
First downs: LaTech 23 LSU 15
Rushing Yds: LaTech 178 LSU 141
Total Off: LaTech 322 LSU 246

Bottom line: The reason we have so many close games is because we are neither a well-prepared nor or well-disciplined team. It's simple: We usually have superior talent, but this hasn't translated to a superior team.
