Longest Day..my call for #1.
A Bridge Too Far..testosterone stars of the era.
The Departed..modern day stars aplenty.
Godfather 1 and 2..Coppola made relative unknowns.
Apocalypse Now..see above.
The Towering Inferno..1970s polyester=fire hazard!
Gumball Rally..Mad Mad Redux w/cheesy 1970s stars
Saving Private Ryan..3 hr war films = huge casts.
The Player..Altman films, like Scorsese and Kubrick films, always have strong casts.

you need to define this better. just throwing a bunch of big name actors into a movie doesnt mean the movie was great.

i could argue the relative no-names in serenity was a better cast because they interacted so well together.

likewise you have dustin hoffman and warren beatty in Ishtar and its a complete disaster.

something like true romance would probably get my vote..just about every majobr actor who appeared in that movie was used to good effect.
