It is gorgeous. Water looks perfect. No tar balls on beach. Not a drop of oil in sight.

10 new skimming boats hit the area the last couple of days and the cleaning crews were in full force.
but, from what I saw, that sounds unbelievable.

Can't be true. Cleanup sucks. They never work, they never put more than 1 teaspoon worth of oil in a BIG garbage bag, the oil will kill the sand, the sand will be black for another 150 years... not that that will matter since everything within 50 miles of the Gulf will be dead including you and me. So quit spreading lies!!!

Depends on where you are at. Farther east, Portifino area down to Navarre looks nice, but Pensacola/ Casino beach is a mess right now. Heavy equipment out today trying to clean up puddles of oil.

Hope they have the Sand-boni's like they have at Grand Isle. They run over the sand and pickup all the oil on along with sand. The sand is then brought to a seperator of some sort that seperates all the sand from the oil. The sand is then put back on the beach.

Dig down about 6 inches. If there is no oil line then that beach has not been hit yet most probably. If there is a line then the beach has been hit and cleaned up.

Have you tried using a UV light at night?
