I don't see a half dozen coaches out there I know would do a better job than Miles. I want improvement like the next guy, but I think many fans have gone from wanting improvement to just wanting the current guy gone.
The program has some problems right now but changing head guys may be more risky than reforming the current one.

My idea of an acceptable head coach is one whose teams do the following:
Defense: 0 yards allowed
Offense: a TD on every drive
Win every game.
Be fashionable.
Speak perfect English.
Never cheat in any way.
Bleed Purple and Gold and sign a lifetime contract with LSU in blood.

60 wins in 6 yrs and the other hardware is not good for u. He has to win 10 this yr or 61 total for u to willing to keep him.

These two are a concern to me, the first much more than the previous. My biggest beef with Miles is that the team seems to digress as the season progresses, then magically show up for the bowl game.
But in my opinion you are taking a huge risk handing the reigns off to anyone else. I hope the current coach we have grows into the position instead of finding someone else to go through the same growing pains.
Muschamp isn't a head coach and no matter how good he is with his defense, you don't know what he will do as CEO.
For Miles to be highly successful (again) he is going to have to make some changes and improve. I think it is still a more viable solution than starting from scratch, again.

I would LOVE Bo as LSU's coach....Back when Miles was rumored to be taking the Michigan job my brother-in-law asked Who could replace him? I said Bo Pellini instantly

He's learned from some of the best. If there was ever an assistant to take a chance on, it's him.

Yep, odds are he will make a good one, but you never know. Point is, I wouldn't trade the current for WM straight up, at this point. Who knows who Muschamp would hire as staff? I think Les is a good offensive coordinator away from a 10 win season.

That's the way it'd be with any coach, even the coaches who are already head coaches at other schools. I don't think a change is necessary at this point. In fact, I hope Miles is so successful that he can coach another 10 years and retire on his own terms.

I think Muschamp's reputation in college football is as strong as it can get for an assistant and he'd probably try to go after Kirby Smart, Mike Bobo, Eddie Gran, and probably James Willis for starters. I think there'd be lots of folk wanting to coach for him, especially with the money we can pay. I wouldn't be worried about staff.

I don't like the way the team has looked on the field the last two seasons, but arguing for change after last season is too much drama for me. I like Les Miles and hope he is very successful at LSU, just don't have a lot of faith. This season will be the tipping point IMO, one way or another.

Work for free, that way the losers on this board won't envy how much money he makes.
No players would ever flunk out or get into trouble.
Rant and rave like an out of control child on the sidelines, that way showing that he has intensity.
No players would ever leave the program early.
Play freshmen. All of them. Starting from the first game.
Every senior would be a first round draft pick.
Heisman winner ever year.

Also, an acceptable coach would at the very least have the #1 recruiting class every year - consisting of all 5 star recruits.
An acceptable coach would also be able to talk Linda Moorehouse into staying at LSU.

Then lets pay Muschamp $1.8 million with incentives and I'll bet he will come. He loved it at LSU...under Saban. A coach at Auburn, the track coach is a mutual friend and he said Muschamp would love a chance at LSU and or Georgia. Just saying I feel lucky on this...

Hopefully, the powers that be at LSU will never again take a gamble and hire an unproven OC/DC to be the head coach, no matter how attractive the candidate may appear to be. (Muschamp) The program is bigger than that now. Just because you can coach offense or defense DOESN'T mean you can organize and manage a program as head coach. L.S.U./S.E.C. is NO PLACE for on the job head football coach training. So please, no more of this "Lets hire an unproven OC/DC" nonsense...
