i've noticed that there are a lot of people on the board that have just started to "follow" soccer (or the us's progress in the world cup, same thing). for you people, most questions/suggestions/threads that you ask/type/whatever generally end up in some sort of weird pissing match.

i feel that it might be worthwhile to start a thread where "old" soccer fans can share their favorite moment, player, etc. with new soccer "fans."

here is my favorite soccer highlight:

yeah, i mean, i figure that you have to be pretty badass for someone to make a serious documentary film of you playing one, single game (i think that it's called "zidane: a 21st century portrait")

my favorite watching moment was probably yesterday, though, and ive watched every national team match for the past 10 years and then a shite ton of club games as well.

of course, this is the internet and video (or still-image) evidence reigns king.

My personal favorite moment was playing in the U-19 Louisiana Soccer Association State Cup when I back heeled a pass across the box on a low corner and one of our Mexicans punched in for the game winning goal to send us to the finals.

i think that the worst part about it was that he could destroy any team in the world while walking around for 89 minutes of the game.
