In the defense of Hardees, if you can find a decently run one (can be a BIG IF though...) their thickburgers are the best drive-through hamburger you can get, IMO. (Carl's Jr are just as good, with their chains being much more consistent.)
I don't know what Five Guys the haters in this thread have been frequenting. Maybe some of their places do suck. I can say from experience that the DC area ones, and the Georgia ones in Atlanta and Savannah are very good. The meat their is cooked very well, and the toppings and fries always taste fresh. IF BR's locations are run that well, it will be the best fast food hamburger in town.

fwiw gabbys said they'd serve me the meat raw if i asked..thats how confident they are in the meat since its grassfed and comes from a farm right down the road.

Five Guys is the most overrated burger place EVAR

Next time I go visit my aunt and uncle in Franklin I'll have to try gabbys, sounds legit. Check out farmburger, it's the same kinda concept. I really dig the whole farm to table deal

Nothing you can order at five guys costs ten bucks, dude.

I just said I enjoyed their burger and Cajun fries. It's a fast burger that doesn't taste like soy. It's delicious and not too expensive. Yet people still wanna bitch. Of course there are better ones. I personally like In N Out more too. It's not a competition and you don't have to eat there. I swear some people must get off on finding a thread they can quickly disagree with and act like they know of something even better. I'd bet everyone on here is about 5'6.

Calm down buddy. You're coming to tigerdroppings looking for affirmation of your opinion. People are going to give you shite no matter what you post.

i personally like my patty to be more like a steak..i like it to be fat and when i cut the sandwich or bite into it, i want to see pink/red inside. i like the flavor of the meat.
to me 5 guys patties are these tiny-arse things that they scorch and are dry & have no flavor. of course if you get 'the works', all that shite hides the fact the patty is mediocre at best.
and their fries suck. sorry, but its true. there's alot of places that cut potatoes & make fries around town that have a shitton more flavor.

Again, have you considered that you are visiting piss poor franchisees? There is a reason some decent food cities has named their versions of 5 guys best burger in their city.
The few I have been to the patties were good sized and not dry, and I found their fries to taste fresh with good texture. (And their fries taste like fries should if they are fried right? I don't know what "flavor" you expected from fresh cut fries...) I'm not doubting you might have found a shitty franchisee, but that doesn't mean that a new one in BR is going to be shitty.

For me, good but not great. Can't remember the exact pricing, but the Bacon Cheeseburger was over $6.00, the drink was around $2.50 and the fries were over $2.00.
Meat was somewhat dry. Fries were good and plentiful. Free toppings were very good. The wait was longer than expected.
