via Tampa radio, Memphis and UCF are heading to the Big East. 'Insiders' at both teams' message boards are saying its true. Invites supposedly coming tomorrow.

I don't believe it. I follow a couple Big East boards since I am a UConn fan as well, and I haven't seen anything other conjecture. All the stories I hear about these teams are usually started by their Rivals beat writers. ECU is a more likely candidate if the BE does expand from what I can tell.

There is a split with the basketball-only schools coming. Talk on many BE boards is encouraging them to just go ahead and offer TCU and Houston once the split occurs.

Haha, sorry rabbit..
Was living in NY when I registered for this board.
Born in Baton Rouge and lifelong Tiger fan
Currently living in Santa Barbara. Need to get chicken to change my name.
Family moved to Connecticut when I was 11 and a bunch of my friends went there, so they are my 2nd favorite team.
Hope that clears some of this mess up.

Maybe that opens the door for La Tech to get into Conf USA. I hope so for their sake.

the talk lots of fans want to see is that the football and basketball schools just tell the bball only and catholic schools to frick off. Those 8 break off form their own conference and add UCF,ECU, with the last 2 being Southern Miss and Memphis.
Get a championship game in football and still have a legit bball leauge

So the Big East would offer TCU in Ft. Worth while Texas A&M in College Station (east of Ft. Worth) was offered by the Pac-10.

I remember the good old days of Georgetown as the Beast of the East in a basketball conference. They definitely need to split.
