What's going to change in the next 5 years that would them want to change conferences? They know they aren't in the strongest conference in the nation and, they like it that way.....

what might change is the people who are giving the big 12 their media deal might be losing money from paying the teams so much.

i dont see this happening. A&M is a good cultural fit, UT isnt. plus if/when we expand, i believe we go to 16 teams, leaving 2 more spots for aggy to come aboard.

UT has no interest in the SEC. Simple as that. They have made that crystal clear.
OU may join but can use some persuasion. A&M has five years to form an alliance with OU, both schools take the new found cash to improve facilities (Lloyd Noble Center replacement for OU, fix the sign at A&M among others), maybe use UT's greed to convince them they need 12 teams (to keep conference championship $$$ coming in), then when UT starts talking divorce they say OK and take OU to the SEC with them.

Your time line of 5 years is about right because the Big XII or whatever they are going to be called is still crumbling. However, I don't see Texas or OU ever joining the SEC. I think their actions made it clear that their next choice was PAC 11. I think it was equally clear that A & M wanted the SEC. This is just a preview of what will happen then.

I don't want Texas either. They're the biggest cancer in sports today. If anybody can find a way to kill the SEC, it will be Texas. If Oklahoma and Texas A&M comes calling, I would definitely welcome them with open arms. Texas can go to hell as far as I'm concerned.

Ya, A&M is a much better fit than Texas.
