The Big 10 and Pac-10 have their schools.
The Big 12 has salvaged itself.
It's done. Period. End of story. Anything else posted, added, questioned, pondered, suggested, etc., is a waste of space.

no the big 12 has not rescued itsself. A&M BOR and big wigs have not come out of their meeting yet.
I still expect SEC until I hear otherwise. We should know something in 2-3 hours.

I was encouraging Aggy to accept their fate and accept that it's a done deal.
There is nothing left to 'hold out for'. D-O-N-E.

Looch from Texags was just on ESPN Baton Rouge.
Says that A&M is still very much wanting to go to the SEC. It all depends on if ESPN can provide an offer that gives the Big XII-lite some stability.

This is really make-or-break time for eATMe.
On the one hand, you have the conference/state loyalty vote that is telling you to stay put and "rescue" the big 12. I'm sure there are a lot of power plays going on right now with politicians, legislators, and big boosters trying to keep eATMe joined with tu.
On the other hand, you have the power, prestige and money associated with the SEC. It's there for the taking if you can just make that jump. All the logic in the world says, when you ignore the historical ties of being in the league with tejas, the SEC is the correct move. Its long-term viability is far greater than the Big 12. The money is there - guaranteed. New recruiting grounds are open. More exposure for your program nationally.
We may never know all of the factors at play behind those closed doors, but I suspect a vote by eATMe to stay where they are is largely influenced by the politicians and teasips.
It is just not logical for a school to pin its future on the unproven prospect of luring increased television revenue to a league that just lost two of its teams, when the very best league on the planet is dangling an invitation out there. The only smart play by eATMe is to tell tu to
