I can't see them going to the Pac-10 or Big Ten by themselves.

Nah, UT is all about the academics and OU and A&M just are not anywhere near their greatness.

texas would make more money in the SEC most likely - it's their pride that's teh issue

A&M is probably making a good decision on multiple fronts if they come to teh SEC.

Keep in mind if OU and A&M come to the SEC West teh most likely outcome is Bama and Auburn move to the East, Vandy comes west - and the schedule for teams in the West especially doesn't get any harder

Exactly. They would never sacrifice academics for the benefit of athletics. Only scholars like Vince Young are accepted.

the fact is that texas knows they come to the SEC they are in for a guaranteed two-three loss season every single year..

they can't beat the best team last season in the sec west with one of their "greatest classes ever", they know the ramifications of playing in the SEC.. it equals a huge reality check for the whole state of texas

Yes, nothing but the best and brightest. As the UT motto says..."What happens here, changes the world."

Only associating with academic heavyweights like Washington State, Oregon State, and Arizona State will do.

There is a growing faction within the OU administration that want to go to the SEC. I don't believe they will come in the end, even with bringing along OSU.

NC State is a team to watch out for as the 14th team.

They don't hold a big enough share of their own state.

weren't they the 4th best football team in north carolina last year - wake, duke, NC ahead of them?

I'm not saying that is my choice, but there is a lot of chatter of them being a prime target. 10th largest TV market. UNC we would obviously love to have more, but they might make the "academics" stink that UT has done. Then we'll have to see what the legislature has to say. We'll have to wait and see how it plays out.

Beebe has bought a couple months moratorium to try and convince the Big 12-2 that he can produce a TV package that they could live with.

academics is a smoke screen. its a tried and true excuse on par with "im not looking to get involved with anyone right now," "its not you- its me" and "she has a great personality." its all bullshite.
