ChipBrownOB: A Big 12 AD says Mack Brown and Bob Stoops have opposed the B12 title game and rest of the league would be happy to dump it.

Followed by:
ChipBrownOB: Unequal revenue sharing formula wouldn't change if Big 12-Lite was to survive. But each school would have $17m to console themselves.

seems like non news - ncaa only allows an exempt conference championship game if there are at least 12 teams in the conference
So to keep the CCG everyone would have to go to 11 regular season games
And how exactly is everyone going to make more money now? When there's no profit from teh CCG and you've lost nebraska and colorado?

They can't have a championship game if they have less than 12 teams, but I'm glad they've reached an agreement on that.

Did they even ask the other 8 followers what they thought of the championship game being dropped? Of course not, they make the rules and have 8 sheep that will follow, regardless the consequences.
Don't be surprised to see the Red River Shootout move to even earlier in the year. Why? Because whoever loses that shootout will still have the rest of the season to make up ground so that they both can end up in BCS Bowls....maybe even play each other for the National Championship. If you have 12-0 and a 11-1 teams at the end of the year, there's a great chance they will both be BCS bound. ...and theyre is also a great chance they will be playing each other for a NC. With a championship game, theres a good chance that the one that loses the reg season game will also lose the conference champ. game....and only one will be in a BCS Bowl....Mack Brown and Bob Stoops know what theyre doing....

I think the message here is that their fine not looking for an 11th and 12th team, keeping a watered down Big 12, etc....

If Dan Beebe could get this kind of TV $, why didn't he pull it out of his arse before Nebraska left?

The Big XII coaches have consistently been against the conference championship game for the past decade. Don't see how that is news.
The 17 million, is though.
Agreed.

Chip's Tweet just now.....
ChipBrownOB: To recap: A plan by Dan Beebe to keep the B12 alive w/ 10 teams with SEC-type TV payouts ($17m) is being considered by Texas.

the plan involves robert redford sleeping with 17 women of his choice from each of the remaining schools

What if the Big 12 added Boise and Notre Dame, they still have 12 and give a big F u to Colorado and Nebraska.

Because at the time, he was only shitting coins, not paper....at least thats what he made the other schools believe.
If the other 8 schools allow this once again, there will not be any sympathy...do it once, shame on you, do it twice, shame on me.

Why would ND join the Big XII when it hesitates on a much much better situation with the Big 10 offer?
