Missouri will likely find a home in a new MWC which will have a BCS bid, as for Baylor and Iowa State now they are fricked.

my best guess is MU ends up as teh 16th team invited to the Big 10 - or ends up in a new bcs conference with KU and KSU

I'd feel worse for them if they hadn't been showing their arse about leaving for the Big Ten before Nebraska walked.

They overplayed their hand seriously and are about to pay for it unless the Big Ten decides they need another team in the west or the Mountain West decides to grab them, K-State, and Kansas.

Missouri is a good school in a great market dying for something quality to watch and I wouldn't mind adding them if A&M is the only Big 12 that comes our way. Add in KState and Kansas as I've stated before and the new markets are Texas, St. Louis and Kansas City. It would make for an interesting and truely West SEC west.

Think of it:
SEC West: (with each school paired with a seemingly natural rival)
Kansas
Kansas St
Missouri
Arkansas
LSU
Texas A&M
Ole Miss
Miss St

SEC East:
UF
UGA
Bama
Auburn
Vandy
Tenn
UK
USCe

Football would not get substantially better, but the markets would, and the basketball play in the conference would get a huge boost and thus even more TV money.

I don't feel bad for Missouri, if they would've kept their mouth shut they would be in the Big 10 right now.

No reason to feel sorry for them.
They did this to themselves.

you guys are blaming missouri for being used as a pawn - big ten was teh one that leaked news about being interested in nebraska, missouri and other teams - probably with the intention of forcing notre dame to join

Missouri of course was interested but got the Heisman from the Big 10 at least for now - while they stand at 12 and chase bigger players

They could still beg the Pac-10 to invite them if A&M leaves.

Exactly. UT has also been using them as a scape goat.

Wouldn't initially get better, but just the prospects of playing in the SEC is enticing for any recruit out there. This would promote the programs immensely.

KU may wind up being like Kentucky every year, staying competitive and providing at least one upset every other year. I'd be fine with that.

Missouri has been bitching about the Big XII since 2007 when they were robbed of their BCS bid. Well too fricking bad. If we didn't have such a shitty system intact to begin with, you wouldn't have had that problem. Then they griped about going to the Alamo Bowl after yet another Big XII North title. Well too goddamn bad. You got blown out by 41 points on national TV. NOBODY WANTS YOU.

Then last year... you went to the Texas Bowl instead of the Cotton... you got robbed again... but the funny thing is, Navy embarrassed your sorry asses.

I would cry if that's what the SEC West looked like

EDIT: with that line up I would be worried that the SEC West would be dropped from the conference as a whole.

They really did. In my opinion, the Big Ten played Mizzou like a fiddle to get Notre Dame's attention.

"Hey Irish, Mizzou is about to get your spot we've been protecting for 20 years!"

Notre Dame said "frick you, I am doing just fine holding my big bag of dicks"

Of course, the whole time, the Mizzou offer was a scam. Just a bluff to get ND to take notice.

The Big Ten needed to use somebody and they weren't gonna screw over Tom Osborne nor OU nor texass.

Oh so funny!!!!

O.P.... don't feel sorry for Mizzou. Be mad at texass and the Pac 10 commish for starting this WHOLE MESS!!!
