Think of it as a crude souvenir of the nation's worst environmental disaster.

As part of a relief effort to help seafood industry laborers thrown out of work by the BP oil spill, a group headed by Kevin Voisin of Houma is offering sealed glass bottles of oil scooped up from Louisiana waters. The price: $1,000 a bottle.

Voisin, whose family runs a Houma seafood business, believes philanthropists and charitable foundations may be willing to buy the bottles. Those who want to make lesser donations can do so. The website for the relief effort is www.horizonrelief.org.

Do you know of any place where you can buy a bottle of crude oil? Too many things come into play. DEQ, Hazardous Materials, etc.
