I wonder if that is one reason why some are predicting things to slow down a little after NU announces for the Big TEleveN tomorrow.
There could be some back and forth between the SEC, ESPN, and prospective new schools about what a revised revenue pie would be from ESPN and each school's take.
You know, because Texas is 100% about the academic fit and all.

Texas wants their own sports network and the SEC is at the moment the only Conference that will allow it. The other oppertunity is for them to go independant and then they will have the Fox Network take them in for their main College sports team like the setup bwtween NBC and ND has.
I believe they really want to go out west but I really do not think the other schools in Texas besides Baylor want to go out there because of the traveling expense and also the effect it would have on the athiletes and their studies. That is why I believe they are coming to the SEC.

If OU is coming here, plus TAMU seeming to be leaning toward the SEC, I think UT won't have much of a decision to make.

jesus you're getting shite info. the SEC already has a network with ESPN, why the frick would they let Texas create their own? Texas can either help form a network with the Pac 10, stay in a weak Big 12 with their own network, or go independant. In any of those scenarios they are in charge which is what they always want.

You did not read correctly what I said.
I said they can develope their own network like LSU has with Tgervision in the SEC they can not in any other conference. But they can go independant and team up with Fox and then they would have a setup like NBC and ND. That is what I said. I am not getting anything other than what I read. All I am doing is saying what I feel about Texas not wanting to come to the SEC they really want to have control over everything wherever they go and by coming to the SEC they would not have that control. JMHO!
