No one is considering another scenario, the current 12 team SEC might actually be able to command similar money compared to expanded Big 10/Pac 10. If that is the case, why expand?

if the PAC 10 goes to 16 teams, the Big 10 will do the same by taking Rutgers, WVU, Maryland, Pitt or some combination of them. This would essentially kill the Big East. I can see the SEC expanding by taking VT, Miami, FSU, and UNC or Clemson, therefore killing the ACC. we would then be left with a loose configuration of teams who will be forced to join together without making a whole lot of geographic sense.

the thing i don't get is everybody is talking about football, but not the non-rev sports. i don't really see how its gonna work economically when Texas Tech has to play Oregon in women's softball for example.

on one hand, i can see conference expansion as being good for football if it leads to a playoff, but on the other hand i just have a bad feeling about having for mega conferences

you have to assume that teams will be playing their division mostly in the minor sports... plus you'd think there be enough money made to send every team on one long road trip per season... i mean if NJIT can play a conference game at Utah Valley State, surely Texas Tech can go to Oregon

Rutgers and Syracuse at the most would be taken by the big 10. WVU not a chance b/c they are not an AAU school.

VT and UNC are going no were. I don't know what makes people think VT could go to the SEC they are tied to UVA at the hip b/c the shite they pulled to get in the ACC
