It is a no brainer for him to go. They drafted him because he is a 5 tool player with tons of potential... the earlier he starts being developed the better.

He lost his spot in the lineup because he couldn't hit and had poor plate discipline. Those are things that can be taught and developed. What Dishon has, and can't be taught, is speed... he has huge upside, kinda like the situation with Chad Jones (raw athleticism)

Yeah, he is a 5 tool player.....minus 2 or 3 of the tools.

fielding - check
speed - check
arm strength - check
ability to hit for power - check
ability to hit for average - check

seems like they're all there to me. potential and ability are not the same thing as production

these are his stats from last years valley league, in which he got a shot to play everyday.
.304, 11 2b, 4 hr, 25 rbi, .405 ob%, 19-19 sb, and 7 outfield assits. he did have 49 k's compared to 19 walks. he had a shot to take hold of the lf spot this year, and he struggled. to say he doesnt have potential though is just stupid. that or you dont know too much about baseball.

I wish him the best of luck. wish he could have done more with his time with the tigers, but the kid definitely has the potential to be a stud.

If he is a check in all of those categories then you can literally say that just about anyone that puts on a uniform has the "potential" to be a 5 tool player.

He definitely doesn't have a check for hitting.

Nobody here knows anything about his fielding because he couldn't stay in the lineup.

He hit a few HRs, but that doesn't mean he projects to have plus power.

His speed and arm are obviously very good.

Given the two known strengths he should have made more of an impact to this point if any of the other three were truly good enough to be considered plus.

He has some talent and I'm not surprised he wa picked, but people use the 5 tool term too loosely.
