All in all, I think this was as good a first day as LSU could have expected:
We never expected to get DeShields or Bedrosian, so that went as expected.
Lee got drafted by a team that could be dumping the pick, and by a team that is famously cheap in the draft.
Gausman, who I expected to go late in the first, is still on the board. This doesn't necessarily mean anything, but it does give a small glimmer of hope if position means something to him.

They will do rounds 2 - 30 tomorrow, so we will know pretty quickly who goes where. Draft start tomorrow at 11 AM central.

I don't think there is any way Gausman slips as far as ZVR did last year, but he is dropping for a different reason. ZVR may not have been projected as high as Gausman originally was, but the main reason he dropped to the 6th was signability. Gausman appears to be dropping due to concerns about his stuff. Will his team be willing to pay his asking price if they have questions about his ability? With ZVR that wasn't the problem, it was just a matter of $$. Gausman also has a little extra leverage as a potential draft eligible sophomore.
He is still a longshot, but just some things to think about.
