we played our style of baseball and had some tough breaks

you dont ditch what has worked for you all season in the playoffs

you dont bunt your best bat and you dont do all the other wacky shite that the coaches on here are bitching about

as Mr. Twain said, "It's better to remain silent and everyone think you a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

no....you dont

you do not give up outs right there, especailly when the guy has gotten hits 40% of the time over 60 games in the season

good question

i'd have to look into the situation and the numbers

a productive out for a guy hitting .280 makes a lot more sense than a productive out for a guy hitting .395

No, you don't. Gibbs had a 39% chance of getting a hit right there, which would have tied the game. It doesn't get better than that.

Show me an example of a team's 3rd or 4th hitter bunting in that situation, then we can talk.

Bertman had a similar situation with Cresse in the 2000 Championship Game. Should he have bunted right there too?

Thanks Rouge; you know this is all bullshite. What didn't work for us in the regular season was playing fundamental baseball. Bunting when trailing is a fundamental part of the game. So if you want to believe that the Monday Morning Coaches failed; I've got some oceanfront property for you in Arizona.

Theriot was already on 2nd when Cresse came up plus game was tied. Totally different situation.

Friday night Eater hitter had 2 bombs IN THAT GAME and yet bunted (squeezed) home a run.

not same situation, but dude was on FIRE then, and still bunted.

Are you an idiot? We all know how his bunt ended up last night. He hit the ball well all game. You either pinch hit to bunt or leave him in and swing away. There was nothing bad about the call it was just a great play by that UCI frick. Let it go.
