Two questions, does he get much PT on the football feild, and will he or is he even good enough to play baseball as well for LSU?

Was thinking about that recently. Seems to me a 4-back rotation over a tough 12-game schedule would work well.
Ware + Ridley = power
Ford + Murphy = speed

Will be very hard to play baseball at LSU
Jones and Mitchell were exceptions
With 35 man roster, it will be difficult for Lee to make it as well

Zach Lee, isnt he supposed to be a top 3 round pitcher? We could use a few of those...

A lot of people don't realize we signed his baseball teammate (Davis) to a baseball scholarship. Davis is a better prospect than Ware, but both have done well at the high school level playing for the same team, so maybe he can contribute - maybe even a Chad Jones reliever/DH one day?

I think he will be the new Dreadlocks of Doom

Ware+Ridley=Power

I say he does but it will probably be on STs unless there are injuries to Ridley and Ford.

Pretty good article on Ware and Davis.
He's definitely a higher rated football player. With the limited roster sizes, I'm not sure how much of a chance he has to make the team.

On one hand, there's no need to play him if he's only going to get about 5 carries all year, mostly at the end of some blowouts. On the other hand, it would nice to get a year of seperation between him and the Hill/Hillard/Magee trio that will be coming in this next year.
I would say that if he is your 3rd best RB or higher on the depth chart, don't redshirt him and get his carries in early and often. Otherwise, look to Shep and Murphy to be the change of pace backs for Ridley/Ford.
As far as baseball, I think it will depend on how many HS prospects we loose to the draft. He's a good player, and I would say he has the talant. It just depends on how much time he wants to devote to football. I would think a RB would be a good position to play in football if you also want to play other sports.

Unless Ridley and Ford get hurt, I don't think we se Ware unless we burn his redshirt for some mop up duty, a la Ridley against La Tech two years ago.
That being said, I think Ware will be special for LSU in two years.

Meanwhile, Ware is a 5-foot-11, 222-pound right fielder who is also one of the nation’s top players on the gridiron. A U.S. Army All-American in football, Ware is ranked the No. 12 running back in the ESPNU 150 and has signed with LSU for football but also plans on joining Davis on the Tigers’ baseball team as a walk-on.
Not likely to be on the roster anytime soon.

I think Murphy will be ineffective in his last year because of that serious knee injury, Spencer Ware will probably be the 3rd back in the rotation behind Ridley and Ford.
LSU is still one of the most talented teams in the SEC on both sides of the ball, they get the QB problems soughted out, they win another SEC title and NC.

Ridley was redshirted. He was an athlete coming out of Natchez, MS and was part of the 2007 class. His first playing time came against Tulane in 2008 during his RS FR year I think.

This is what you like to see and hear:
“Obviously everything on the field is well documented, but what I think is exceptional about them is the character they bring,” says Princeton athletic director Scott Kaufman. “They are as terrific young men as you can find in a high school athlete. They exemplify everything that is good about high school sports.”
Hubbard thinks their combination of talent, character and work ethic will lead to stardom after high school.
“I think because Marcus has such a desire to make it to the next level, he’s going to be able to do it because he’s going to work at it,” says Hubbard. “Spencer is just one of those great athletes you come across so often. I could see him playing on Sunday and being a great baseball player, too.”
Before they get there, the former rivals and now close friends are excited about continuing their careers at LSU.
“It’s going to be real good,” says Ware. “I never thought it would happen, but we’ve got another four years together.”

one of the biggest misconceptions is that Richard Murphy is a "speed back". He does not have great speed. His only good running back quality really is that he is elusive. I don't think he could outrun Ford or Ware. He mught be able to outrun Ridley but I think that's it.
