Much like everything else. Probably not good timing with a recession still around, as some fans make have to make some hard choices between necessities and discretionary spending.

that is just plain dumb .. next .. TAF will get its grubby paws on some of the season tickets and you will be paying TAF fees for absolutely nothing ..

Not exactly great timing to institute the the tradition fund, coming off of a 2 win SEC season. I was considering getting in now while the stock is "low" so to speak, (I think the program will eventually develop into a consistent winner)however there's no way in hell I'm going to drop $750 to $1000 per seat on basketball in addition to what I already pay for Football season tickets. The reason LSU is doing this for next season is because of all of the "prime seats" that will be available due to the student section being moved behind the goal.

I think it's good timing. These are economic decisions, not "the team is winning, let's stick it to the fans" decisions. Work needs to be done on PMAC, they are investing a lot of money into the program with facilities and an excellent coaching staff. These things have to be paid for -- on the front end, not the back end.

Even if you don't have or buy season tickets, it won't be hard to go out there and find tickets or purchase them on a single game basis.

TAF and sports admin need to be careful on this one. A ton of home games are during the middle of the week and at night and many are also against subpar teams. If I was on the fence about buying season tix, this would be a move to get me off and on my couch on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. On Saturdays, I will find the black guys on the bikes. Sorry, but fans go through such a raping during football season.

Yeah this topic was brought up yesterday. There's a lot of things wrong with this proposal. I hope it falls flat on it's face.

1. We suck and will not be much better next year
2. How can you charge that price for a subpar product?
3. The place was empty with cheap tickets, how the hell is this going to increase attendance?
4. We don't have an exciting home schedule.
5. Solution - Buy tickets in front of the pmac for 10 bucks to sit in the lowers or in many cases just get free ones from someone outside.

ETA: I'm an aggravated season ticket holder that's 90% sure I'm dumping my tickets.

I have ha d basketball tickets for 25 years. I think I am gonig to give up my tickets. I will just get tickets for the games I want to attend. It saddens me because my Mom loves basketball. Its just too much money for the quality of the product.

somebody would sue them for false advertising. There's no way they could do that. We are set for the next three years.

Does anyone have the prices for how much they are going to cost now

Good timing to raise fees during an economic downturn for a product less people want to see?

Bad timing to be increasing prices after one of the worst seasons that I can remember. We may need a new A D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's almost like LSU doesn't want to have a basketball program.

This is a TERRIBLE decision.

He isn't saying we need a new A.D. because of the bad season, we need a new A.D. because of the assinine timing of the ticket increase. They would have been better served doing this last year, but to do it coming off of a 2 win SEC season is just plain foolish. Couple that with the fact we probably won't be all that much better this year.
