On the other hand, it is a great opportunity for each party to learn about the other. Keep that last part in perspective and it will help. And obviously go in well prepared.

I've done an IB interview for an internship. They had all the financial analysts I would work with interview me and then had a senior VP come in for a couple minutes as well.
They basically went through my resume and asked me to talk about everything on it in detail, the types of classes I had taken, etc.
It wasn't that hard of an interview...but this was only for an internship.

Yes.
I can only imagine that for a full time job it would be very technical.

They want to know that you can contribute right away.

Always turn it around and interview them. It usually works.

Highly depends on the firm, regardless of industry. Who/where are you interviewing with?

Its a boutique energy firm in Houston. Should be interesting.

Ah, cool. I was reading/looking at a few boutique IBs in Houston last week. Energy stuff, while prevalent there, is really not my thing though, unfortunately. Energy firms seem to really value the engineer + MBA combo.

Yeah after watching that 60 Minutes last night about the Transocean Horizon I really think I missed my calling to be a petroleum engineer.
Man was that shite interesting.
