Possibility Of Ranaudo Coming Back??

Anyone else think Ranaudo should just sit for the remainder of the season and allow his arm to FULLY HEAL. I'm under the impression he's not 100%. We're now on the bubble to even make it to Hoover. I hate to say it, being a season ticket holder since '93, but this season is close to being a wash. Why not sit AR and allow some of the young guys to get some innings and i guess, start to prepare for next year?? I just don't see how AR has helped his stock with the way this year has gone. I know they say he's a first rounder but I just can't imagine him going that hight now. I could be wrong!

if he really is a great pitcher in his mind, he needs to come back to improve his draft prospects.

do you think he is still a first rounder? even after the hard luck season he's had??

completely agree. thats why i say sit him, rest him, let him heal. he comes back next year and hopefully returns to his 2009 form.
I really enjoy "On The Mound with Patrick Coogan" on Mascona's show. He said he thinks AR is trying to make up for so much lost time in a such a short period of time so that he can keep that high draft spot when all that is actually doing is hurting him.

I think AR has fallen of the map and will not sniff the first round, much less the first pick.
When he "pitched" against Ole Miss, the scout that they interviewed, said that there was a lot of skepticism about AR now. I don't know that he has done anything to remove the doubt, considering that he has given up crooked numbers in the first inning of his last starts.

Even if he drops to the second round this year and he gets picked in the first round next year he wouldn't be improving on the money he is going to get, and he would in fact be taking a huge risk by returning.
The only thing that could possibly bring him back would be his pride and not wanting to go out so poorly. He has nothing to gain financially.

completely disagree.
if he can prove this year was a fluke and dominate next year, then it would mean $$$$$$$$$.

His arm is healthy. His velocity has been up.

He has Boras and leverage, he is going to get $$$$$ this year no matter how bad he has looked. Obviously he won't get as much as he would have had he performed the way everyone thought he would....but he won't get that much next year either being a senior.

na dude he is gone...mlb teams want to get raunado and work with him...with the nature of farm systems and the way he has pitched in the past he will fall but still probably go in the first round

Yes. Baseball more than any other professional sport drafts on potential. There are great upsides to this kid despite the 2010 season.

A.R. has the want to be a good pitcher.

You can teach a curve ball or atleast work on it. You can't teach 94mph.

He is gone and will likely need a surgery after this season to clean up his elbow

I heard a guy on ESPN about a week ago. Can't remember his name, but he thinks ar will go somewhere between 11-15. He thinks pro teams aren't that concerned with this year. Too much upside to drop way down in draft.

Even if he goes second round, he could still get close to first round signing bonus

Or he could continue to pitch like he is now and not get drafted at all.

Boy some fanbase is going to be happy drafting a guy in the first or second round with a 8+ ERA...
