Here's a question. How has Percy Walker's The Moviegoer never been made into a movie?

Probably why Confederacy of Dunces hasn't. A great read but may be too mundane of a plot to transfer well to the screen.

The Moviegoer is my favorite novel, and Terence Malick was looking to adapt it for film in the 90's. Tim Robbins and Julia Roberts were rumored leads.

If you are a Walker Percy fan, you should look for the documentary about his life coming out later this year. Here's the trailer:
