With fans like you, who needs Ole Miss?

Since you in all likihood never ever contributed anything to LSU, what gives you the right to question how and on what LSU spends its funds?

WTF makes this likely?

In my honest opinion coaches can only do so much. Could they have coached better? Yes
but IMO this is the players faults. They underachieved for the most part. Lafell had plenty of opportunities. He drops alot of balls.
Top talent shouldn't lay down the way some of these players did. Don't give me crap about development. You develop if you want to develop. You stay after to work on your routes or making sure to secure balls.
Qb play can't be blamed when you drop balls. Yes you can argue that a better qb would give more opportunities but the best receivers take the chances they get and make something happen.
This goes for all positions. I think our players have been lazy. That's not just coaching. It goes both ways

Easy dude..one year without 1st and 2nd round picks does not mean the end of the world. I'm not a LM fan, but it is just one of those years. No Ohio St., 1 USC , no Miami players yet. These along with LSU have been a hot bed for the last decade.

quote:I tend to agree. But the weight of blame falls on a lax coaching environment that permitted the first fall-down with no major consequences, then the second, the third, eventually it becomes the culture of the team.

NFL Draft is in Round 3 and after 68 picks, not one LSU player has been chosen.

This years lsu draft class did not produce. Blame coaches if you like but i blame players for not pushing hard enough. This last class had very few leaders IMO. No Jacob Hester type player.
We needed a player to kick the offense in the butt since JJ couldn't do that
think about the 07 senior class
Flynn
Hester
doucet
Dorsey
steltz
etc...
Classy guys. Some more talented than others but real leaders on the field
lafell Scott and black did not fill those rolls

Wow, you completely misssed the point of his post.

I do not think that the lack of leadership on offense will continue
shep is a leader
ford is a silent leader type
randle is a leader
it just takes a few
defense we have leaders
Kelvin
Peterson
I think loston will step up
Mingo shows heart
Heart may not win a national title but talent alone will not either. We have the talent to win big we just need the heart

this means nothing for the future, but its a pretty bad sign when your biggest role model/ leader is a true freshman
it was Shep
not lafell
not scott
not black
not alem
not c jones
not williams
