I really didnt know LA had tiger shrimp I only thought we had Gulf Brown, White and Pink.

I thought all those tiger shrimp were from asia.

the Tiger shrimp are a pretty recent thing, and not a good thing at all. They have been spotted from La all the way up to the Carolinas lately. They are much bigger than our shrimp, and notch up the food chain if food sources get scarce. Also, tiger shrimp are generally not as sweet and juicy either, so that's also a lose.

I wasn't aware that their populations were at levels were they were being harvested in La waters. News to me.

He is wrong Tigre. Tiger shrimp are stil rare in LA waters. I ask my shrimper customers all the time if they have ever caught any. Out of about 150 asked only about five have said they have ever caught them.
