Lack of role player scoring + terrible officiating = thenry with little hope in this series.

I wasn't pleased with the free throw disparity...but bottom line is, we need some defense. Honestly, that was sickening to watch San Antonio get beat by shot after shot. In hindsight, maybe the defense was okay...Dirk was just unstoppable.

Spurs can't play any better than they did last night.

Mavs take this series in a sweep.

That's pretty much the basis for my confidence in the Mavs winning this series. SA just doesn't have anyone that matches up that well with Dirk.

I'd say Parker is the only guy on SA that the Mavs don't have an answer for. Duncan's Duncan, so he'll get his points. But Dampier and Haywood make it at least somewhat of an obstacle. Ginobili is kind of in the same boat. He's playing incredible ball, but Marion, Butler, and Kidd are pretty capable of giving him a challenge on a nightly basis. Parker? The Mavs just don't have anyone that can keep up with him, IMO, when he's going well. roddy beaubois would probably stand the best chance of staying with him, but Carlisle doesn't give him meaningful minutes for some reason.

I could see the Spurs making this a long series if Parker gets going. Otherwise, I'm sticking with Mavs in 5.

I dont think the officiating had anything to do with the mavs winning that game. The Spurs had no answer defensively for the mavs. They have no one that can stop dirk or butler.

Dallas did not even play that good of a game. When Jason Terry is shooting the ball well the score will not even be close. He had several wide open shots because of the double team on dirk that he usually makes.

I really dont see the spurs keeping this series close. The mavs have finally surpassed them in talent.

I think the Mavs did that around the time Duncan started to show signs of age/injury. It's not a new development.

I dont understand why Beaubois doesnt get more minutes. Berea is a decent player, but Beaubois is alot better with much more potential.

Maybe the mavs dont have someone that can hang with parker individually, but their team defense was great last night. They caused alot of turnovers from helping each other on defense. There was a little help from Duncan as well though. I have never seen him bobble and drop so many passes, dribble off his knee, etc.

I dont know, I cant remember thinking the mavs had a better team than the Spurs until this year. May have been up and coming, but it was by no means a certainty.

No joke. Barea was always an okay player, but it pains me to see him getting minutes over Roddy. Roddy is a better shooter, scorer, defender, and rebounder. I just don't understand it at all. He's the only thing the mavs have that gets me excited, at all, about the future after Dirk.

I think last season was the turning point, myself. But I can see why one season wouldn't necessarily change someone's mind.

Did you happen to see the game against the Clippers last week? He had the LA fans cheering for him after a couple of incredible alley oops and cross over j's. I also love seeing him block 6'7" players lay ups. They see him and think this should be easy to do against this little guy. They he explodes off the floor and jumps 5" higher than them and stuffs it. Good times.

Get ready to see Duncan cry all series long.

Dirk's fadeaway is just unstoppable. Carlisle will figure out that Roddy B needs more minutes, but I think he's waiting to get deeper into the playoffs when other teams start tiring out and don't have the depth. That's the only thing I can think of.

JJ Barea is not good. He has flashes of brilliance, but then he'll turn the ball over 3 times in 5 possessions. I don't trust him.

Mavs in 5.
