Marcus Thornton sets rookie second-round pick scoring record

As far as my research shows, Marcus Thornton averaged more points per game than any rookie second-round NBA pick in at least the last 25 years. Anyone who watched him at LSU last year could have told NBA scouts they were wrong to doubt his scoring ability.

If you cared to go back and look, many of us on the board predicted great things for MT. Glad for him.

many is a strong word. A lot of people on this board love to see LSU athletes fail and magnify any weakness. Some thought he would do big things.

In 2010, MT5 averaged 0.565 points per minute played (PPM). Dwight Howard averaged 0.529 PPM.
