Miles was hired to replace Saban? Have your feelings changed since?

I'll admit that I wasn't excited about the hire, and questioned it, but still was willing to give Miles a chance. I think if he makes the right Asst Coach hires, he can be very successful, but he can't counteract at all his bad hires (see 2008 defense) until potentially a season later.

If I remember correctly, seems like almost everyone was worried that we'd just made a mistake and gone on the cheap.

This isn't to knock Les, but just curious to see how people's views have or haven't changed in 6 years.

Same as everyone else. I hated the hire considering Tech beat him 2 out of 3 times.

I knew he wasn't good enough, and I was right. He isn't good enough for LSU.

If LSU is shelling out $4,000,000 a year, it should get an elite coach. LSU is wasting millions.

I was PROFOUNDLY disappointed!

I could not believe, our AD could make such a choice.

It is not personal, it is just not a good fit for LSU.

He and Dinardo, cut their eyeteeth, under McCarthey at Colorado.

I wanted somebody, outside of the LSU gene pool, so don't get me wrong.

But from casual awareness of Miles' resume, I would have NEVER HIRED HIM AS LSU HC.

Nothing has happened, that convinces me I was wrong.

Miles' demeanor, from the getgo was one of shiftlessness and casualness. He is not wired to lead the LSU Nation. PERIOD!

I thought you would ask: HOW MANY OF YOU WERE DISAPPOINTED WHEN HE DID NOT LEAVE FOR MICHIGAN!

That made me sick too, I could not believe we would be so LUCKY!! At the time, I just did not believe that Michigan could hire him. But blind acorns fall in the lap of blind pigs....

There is always going to be skepticism when you replace a successful coach who turned your program around with a coach folk know little about it.

I questioned when they hired Saban,...never heard of him...and at the time, he wasn't that impressive either....just saying,...all of you young people that have become fans in the last 5 to 9 years do not know what a mediocre team is really like...you had to have lived through the Stovall days....and all the others...

I wasn't sure what to think. I was hopeful. I wanted to drink the kool-aid and believe.

Yes. I like CLM as a person. As a HC for LSU, I think he lacks a lot and prob. will never be the kind of coach that takes LSU for long, annual rides at or very near the top.

He went 51-15 over 5 years and won a BCS championship. How is that hire not graded at least an A-, if not better?

I was very pissed. Now I think it was a good hire. He won a NC and led us to bowl V's 4 out of 5 years. I couldn't hardle watch the Cap 1 game Nicky blew for us because I knew Les was coming in.

I was mostly disappointed when Saban left, I knew little about Miles.

I don't feel that Miles is an elite coach. I believe that a lot of people try to compare a college football coach to a high school coach, but really they are more like a CEO of a large corporation, especially when you're talking about a program like LSU. Nick Saban is, regardless of what you anyone thinks of him, an incredible manager and professional. He holds everyone in his corporation to a very high standard and he does it consistently. He is a rare individual. Most anyone who is compared to him when it comes to righting the ship and sailing it through the storm is going to come up short. With that said, he is not the only one who can be successful. I am not sure that Miles holds his people accountable enough to get it done consistently. Thank you for listening.
