BATON ROUGE -- LSU is considering a revision to its current Louisiana Special License Plate design to better emphasize the LSU brand and is giving Tiger fans the opportunity to vote for the new design.

The university has developed six revised Special License Plate designs that provide LSU with strong brand exposure on the roads, and Tiger fans can vote for their favorite design on the official site of LSU Athletics, www.LSUsports.net. Voting closes on April 14, 2010.

The first three new designs feature the LSU Tiger Head logo with the phrase "Geaux Tigers" on the bottom and various purple and gold color patterns. The next three designs showcase the "Eye of the Tiger" logo with the university initials in the "Geaux Font" located on the bottom and various color patterns.

Since 1992, the state of Louisiana has sold LSU Special License Plates to benefit academic and financial need scholarships for LSU students, and the program has raised $2 million in the past 18 years.

The LSU Tiger plates are available to any residents of Louisiana for all non-commercial cars, trucks and motor homes. For more information, visit www.expresslane.org.
