Somehow Rice loses a weekend series to San Diego and hangs on to the top 25. They just won't let them go.

Its about name recognition, and that they've played a good schedule

San Diego State w/Tony Gwynn are 8-10 this year without Strasburg.

They beat San Diego (11-10) in a series 2 games to 1.

I know it's early, but is TCU that good? Have they played anyone good?

Yes - They are. It's surprising to me that people don't realize that Texas BARELY got by them in 3 to get to the CWS last year. Their pitching has improved since then.

According to this - They are ranked #4 in Record:Strength of Schedule so far.

They've been destroying the majority of their opponents and are the reason Cal-Fullerton is no longer in the Top 25. They also lost a scraper to Rice 5-4 with some questionable calls by the ump. The next 2-3 weeks will answer a lot of questions with the Frogs facing ranked teams Texas A&M and Oklahoma. They will also face a fast-rising New Mexico team as part of their conference play at the beginning of May.

Keep your eye on the Horned Frogs - They have a great chance to make their first CWS this year.

Well, I am not sure that losing 2 of 3 to a highly rated TCU team is the reason they are out of the top 25. Perhaps dropping 2 of 3 to unranked Arizona is more of a reason.

I was impressed that they played ASU close though.

I think losing to TCU (who they were ranked AHEAD of at the time) put them in a [temporary] tailspin.

I do agree that their showing against ASU was encouraging. There's a TON of season left - they'll scratch their way back before all is said and done with.

Pac 10 has two undefeated teams.
Some baseball writers must be watching a LOT of film to vote them down the list vs teams with losses.
