Jack is in Thomas' spot. No surprise there.

Looks to me like Kate is in the Judas position. The problem is that there are too many people on the other side of the pic.

ETA: It looks like Hurley is the extra person. Significant?

I only say that Kate seems to be in John's position because of the way she is leaning away. But John is leaning away in Da Vinci's painting because he is swooning at Jesus's revelation... Kate just appears to have bad posture

I think Sayid is the Judas figure... because he is near that position and is wearing a similar colored shirt

Does anyone think that each side of the table represents who will be on Team MIB(left side) v. Team Jacob (right side)? I note that Richard and Illana are on the left side, so this may not be the case.

You mean because he's brown, right?

It was only a matter of time before your hood came off!

I actually don't think there's any merit to the way everyone is arranged around Locke, but it is interesting that all of those following him currently are at his right hand.

I know that the character on the far left is Ilana but i think the way the picture came out makes here look more like Charlotte (isnt that faradays girlfriend)

Also, is it possible that it's simply a throwback to this?

Looks like it.

BTW, is BSG worth watching?

I couldn't tell you... a lot of people seem to think so.

I just found that image when searching for a better image of Da Vinci's last supper.

I don't understand how anyone other than Kate can be argued to be in the Judas position. Closest to Jesus is John, then seated is Judas with Peter over his right shoulder.

In the Lost pic, Sawyer is closest to MIB, with Kate seated and Sawyer over her right shoulder. She is even seated with her elbow on the table, as Judas was pictured. In the larger picture, I think I can even make out something in her right hand that could represent Judas' money pouch (I admit that I could be seeing things here).

There is probably nothing to take from this. If we did, that would mean MIB was the ultimate good guy and that Sawyer is his beloved disciple. Kate would be his betrayer and Sawyer would deny him. Jack would be the doubter, which makes sense.

Personally, I think it's just a picture. The only possible significance is that there is an extra person (Hurley) in the Lost pic.

Actually, Richard being to the right of Locke makes sense. What is depicted in that photo is the moment (a fictional moment... they all found out at different times) when it is revealed that Locke is not actually himself. Richard is still at his right hand because he had followed Locke up to that point. I'm still trying to figure out why Ilana is there, considering she seems to be Jacob's biggest fan.

ETA: It is possible Ilana is in Bartholomew's position because we know the least about her background and motives, just as among the apostles we know the least about Bartholomew.

I think it's just a picture. I said Sawyer was John because John is directly to the right of Jesus, as Sawyer is.

Again, I think it's just a picture, except for the fact that EVERYONE is looking at Locke, but Sawyer is looking right at Jack. And now that we see how the season is shaping up, Kate may betray Locke.

TECHNICALLY according to tradition:

Sawyer = John
Kate = Judas
Sayid = Peter
Jack = Thomas

But what not many people are getting is there are 13 "disciples" in that picture, not 12.

I don't think it means that much either, but it's fun to speculate.

Right. Hugo appears to be in the extra spot.

I also don't remember seeing skulls under the table for the Last Supper.

I'm not really buying into the theory that they all represent apostles. That would be a little too convenient. I do think there may be some merit to how they are positioned on Locke's left and right sides.

ETA: I know enough about BSG to know that you can split that last supper depiction into left and right also.
