I've seen it done on TV quite a bit at burger joints. Has anyone actually tried it?

Is it for taste reasons? I could see no other reason to do so?

yes, it really doesn't add much at all and actually screws up the texture. I love peanut butter, but it's not a great combo. A thinner peanut sauce like you see at Asian restaurants works a lot better than peanut butter if you want to try it.

yea I couldn't imagine it being all that good, but thought maybe it was one of those combos so odd it somehow works

it doesn't. I mean i like the flavor of peanut butter and bacon together, but putting it on burger makes the texture kind of of gummy. It's more of a goofy gimmick.

getting people to order out of curiosity I guess

theres actually a bar in MS where burgers are their specialty, that serves one and it is one of their best sellers...I dont even feel like wasting my money on it to try it, i dont think i'd like it

I dunno. I like it. get it everytime at ya mama's

yeah, that has to be one of their top sellers. It's not awful or anything, just don't see the fascination.
The one they serve with creme fraiche and caviar is actually better than i expected. It's a sloppy mess, but great for a hangover.

Had the peanut butter burger at the one in Flowood. I wasn't very impressed.

I've seen a burger topped with cream cheese and jalapenos that would be interesting to try though

I've seen this too and tried it. When I tried it was at Rae's on Wigwam and Pecos in Las Vegas.
I saw a show on the travel channel where they made hamburgers not only with peanut butter but mayonaise too.

the elvis burger at the vortex in atlanta has peanut butter, bacon and sauteed bananas on it. i like it, although the burger itself is the least tasty part of the combo...the sweet potato fries dipped in the excess peanut butter are really good, too.
