There is nothing special at all about community. People generally like it because it is local and it is what people watched their parents drink.

I compare coffee to donuts, whatever you grew up on you will swear is the best. once you get over yourself and try other things you realize that there are huge possibilities.
btw, if you haven't made it by thee heavenly donut on highland by ccla you have to make a trip. due to work schedule i get them when they are coming straight out the grease they are heaven in a box (fresh fried cake donuts are the shite)

Yeah, I grew up on CC, but I finally decided to try other things and have learned that there is this whole other world of great coffee out there.

man this is true. my gf swears by the donuts she's always had (shippleys) and i finally had them and they're just like any other donut i ever had. i do want to go to the place on highland you mentioned

I put off going for a long time just because I didn't think it would be that special. now the wife makes me stop once a week when I am coming off nights. usually my choices are a little limited because I am there so early, but they have never tried passing off yesterdays donuts as made that morning.

It may be slightly better than Folgers. But it is bland and weak compared to anything you buy from a local shop that roast beans on premises.
