at least it looks like Shep will see the field more next year
Looking forward to watching this guy make some big plays for us. He is one of my favorite tigers. Hope he can develop into a Percy Harvin type player.

When Tebow was a freshman they won a NC and he was the Wildcat Qb

wait wait wait. if you asked a lot of people on the rant, shep was gonna be the next great qb as of like a week ago

I'm confident he'll do great at this position. He'll be sort of a dual threat.
I know we'll see him more and I can't wait.

Actually, I find JJ is not a very good running QB. He really seems to only be effective when holding the ball too long on pass plays, and escaping the pocket.
Even then he is very hesitant. I realize he had some ankle issues, and probably was told to avoid contact at all costs, but he doesn't run the ball well on designed running plays.

exactly my point, why should LSU take advantage of the perfect WildCat QB? Ofcourse, aren't you a big Crowton guy?
It's an extremely effective set, and LSU has the perfect fit for it, but it's more or less getting scrapped.

Might I bring up the fact that Nebraska won several chapmionships with a "Wildcat" offense.

there were plenty of them, and none of them will eat crow. it was very obvious shep would never be a qb, but too many rantards were convinced otherwise because of miles' promise to give him a "shot" at qb. when he practiced w/ the receivers in spring ball, that should have said it all

Among other reasons, I think that the main reason Billy G. was brought in was to show them the correct way to use an athlete of Shepard's ability. LSU will use him like the next Harvin.

Maybe he feels they don't have a good enough o-line for it. i dont know. Maybe Shep isnt a good enough QB to run it. Again...i don't know. But Miles said hes putting Shep on the field more...which is what everyone wanted.

Let's be honest, Crowton and Miles aren't going to run it much, if they do it wont be effective, mostly because they have no idea how to run it effectively.

No offense but Miles explicitly says he will still be used in that role.

Maybe Shep isnt a good enough QB to run it.
