McFadden and Mccluster were capable. Problem is GC is just to incompetent to utilize the best playmaker on LSU's team

pretty much sums up the problem.

No offense but Miles explicitly says he will still be used in that role.

that does not sound like a coach that will give much of a look to the WC

I think you're giving Shep to much credit.

I think you must be joking

He's a bright kid and the Wildcat is not complicated. Any moron could teach someone like him to run it effectively

You may be right, but I know we've given Miles and Crowton too much benefit of the doubt.

not really, I just don't see the superhero that everyone else does. He wanted to play qb, struggled at it, has shown glimpses of greatness running the ball, but also an inability to hang onto the ball, can't get the plays figured out. Just not willing to hang it all on the coaches.

we have other players who might not be as good at receiving(gore, murphy, calhoun) they might fit at the wildcat formation just as good as shepperd. I think using shepperd as a receiver and sometimes running back gives us a better chance at victory.

I think that LSU will use more WildTiger sets this year for one simple reason... We finally have and offensive coach in Billy G. that actually know how to teach it, install it, run it, and call it properly.

last year, it seemed that LSU was the only team in College, NFL, or even High School that could not run the wildcat offense properly.

he's not a superhero, but he was the most gifted player on the team w/ the ball in his hands. He is also a bright enough kid to grad in less than 4 yrs from HS and the staff still couldn't effectively use him. He fumbled the ball once last year. When he got the ball, he did a hell of a lot more good than bad. I'd be willing to put more on RS if the O coaches hadn't proven to be so incompetent over and over again last year.

I feel better knowing that all of the million dollar coach's on this board really know more than the OFFICIAL coach's of LSU...makes me sleep better at night...HOPE YOU DO BETTER IN YOUR EDUCATION PURSUIT THAN YOU ARE DOING CRITIZING LSU COACH'S...

yes

i think billy g was hired to enhance our running game, not our passing game

well it's painfully obvious that miles/crowton can't coach, scheme, or call any option plays

Well, who knows what the frick Miles has planned, but Billy G's official title is "passing game coordinator." That probably doesn't mean shite though.

On the original topic, I think it was painfully obvious to most football fans that pay attention that Shep was never going to play full time QB here.
