Chad Jones Faster The Laron Landry

At least that is what Mike Detillier said last night on 4th Down on 4. He also said Chad is a better cover guy than Laron. Thoughts?

Faster, maybe. More explosive, probably. A better cover guy? I don't know.
I think Laron has good cover skills for a safety. I was not impressed with Chad Jones' coverage skills at LSU, but I don't know exactly what he was asked to do. I know he is a very explosive player. Both players have demonstrated the ability to deliver big hits and make big plays. Both play like a linebacker in the secondary. I hope CJ does well.

That is why I was pretty shocked Detillier made that comment. Being a better cover guy than Laron, not so much. Laron should be moved to SS from what I saw in the Saints game.

Laron is faster. 4.35. Period.
I think Chad is a much better cover guy and has much better ball skills. Chad is also pretty football fast, i.e. with pads on and has good shake. He is tall, strong, and big with the frame to get bigger and should make a pretty good NFL OLB or SS.
