Former AL MVP George Sisler and big league All-Star B.J. Surhoff were among 10 players and coaches elected for the College Baseball Hall of Fame on Thursday.

Joining them were Alan Bannister (Arizona State), Eddy Furniss (LSU), Don Heinkel (Wichita State), Dave Magadan (Alabama), Charles Teague (Wake Forest) and Richard Wortham (Texas), as well as former Fresno State coach Bob Bennett and Cerritos College coach Wally Kincaid.

I wonder what Big Eddie looks like nowadays. Is it BIG Eddie, or do you think he's slimmed down.

ETA. He looks slimmed down. Scroll down.

So happy for Big Ed! Not only a great college player, but a great ambassador for LSU. FWIW, Magadan was the best pure college hitter that I ever saw play at the Box. Career BA of .439 and hit .525 his junior year. Not a power hitter, but he could flat out hit!

I remember people at the box cheering Eddie. Reminded me of when Kennison was at LSU.

Watching games from the stands? Getting autographs?

Furniss never played in the majors.

Never made it past AA. Probably spring training pics.

First base is a tough position to break into the majors at, and Eddy never looked like he was built to make it at 3B or in the OF, which is the only other place you can put a guy his size.

I purchased a LSU baseball picture that is large and had Furniss and all the lsu baseball team sign. I can't remember the year, I guess early 90's? Anyway, do any of you guys think this is worth anything? Also Skip and the rest of the coaches.

Very curious.
Thanks

Yes, but as with all sports merchandise, it's all seasonal. Try to sell it in January, you'll see little interest. Sell it during the Super Regional that LSU is winning, and you'll make more.

Keep in mind that generally speaking, multi-signed items are worth less than single signed items.
