I would have done the same as he did. But I am curious if he's made any comments post game about the saints win. Like if his son had to lose, he was glad it was to the saints or something along those lines

I don't know why people hate on Archie. IMO, he has always been as classy as anyone could be.

He backs his family like a real man and his kids, although not perfect, are also class acts. Archie and the Mannings are great ambassadors for New Orleans. I wish the circumstances were different and he could be in on the celebration we're all having.

I have absolutely no problem with this, but when you don't root for the Saints to win the Super Bowl, you're no longer one of us. I don't see him as a traitor and I don't hate him, but I don't see him as a Saint anymore, either.

Well that makes it tough for him. If he pulls for the saints he's no longer his father?

Move over Archie this is Brees town now.
Had Saints had #1 pick you think Archie would've let Peyton play for them at that time?

Honestly, with the way that the Mannings handled the Eli/Chargers situation, I don't think Archie would have let either of his sons play for the Saints. And that's fine by me, as I'm sure somewhere he feels robbed of being a big name in football history by playing for a terrible team. I know I wouldn't want that for my son. But, again, if you do that, you aren't a Saint.

Blood is thicker than anything else. You say he's not a Saint now? If he rooted for the Saints, would he no longer be a Manning?

Archie is in a tough position, but I would have felt much less for him as a man if he would abandon his son and say he was hoping for the Saints to win.

That said, GEAUX SANTOS!!

I guess. He has to pick one. He did. As I said, I don't fault him for it. But I'm not going to worship him as some sort of personification of the franchise like some people seem to.

My thoughts as well. It's kind of awkward when you think about it. The first ever appearance and Super Bowl victory of the franchise you're associated with is against your son who was raised a Saints fan. Your number was the first to be retired in the organization...one of the highest honors given to a player.

It's hard to say this but Archie does earn a place at the table to share in this moment of glory having been a major face of the franchise, albeit a negative one.

With that said, I would enjoy seeing some his comments on the game.

Archie's gone. Let it go.

He's got two Super Bowl winning QB's for kids. The Saints are the number three team on his ESPN Scoreboard page.

That would be because they're fricking retarded.

ETA: I didn't mean to insult the mentally challenged. People who hate Archie need to off themselves.

Doug Atkins Wikipedia page

Even though he only played three seasons for New Orleans, the club retired his #81, one of two numbers retired by the franchise. The other, #31, belongs to Hall of Fame fullback Jim Taylor, a long-time rival of Atkins during Taylor's days with the Green Bay Packers.
