Good grief this whole thread assumes that Jamaal Brown is going somewhere. Did you people not see how Bushrod got mercilessly abused this year? He had to have given up 10 sacks. Jamaal Brown isn't going anywhere.

Bushrod needs help at times, but he's a good value even with getting a new contract. The core is going to be getting a payday and we made the SuperBowl with Bushrod, so I think the team benefits more from the $3 - $5 million per year savings you get with Bushrod vs. Brown.

I think it was 7 sacks Bushrod gave up. I wouldn't characterize his performance for the year as "mercilessly abused" though. He had some bad outings but also some very good games in fact. Considering how he was thrust after never starting and coming from Towson it was even respectable IMO. I recognize the quality level of Brown. I think most are just scared to see a long term commitment made to a guy who looks like he could fall apart physically at anytime. Bushrod for his price is quite a deal.

With the RFA look a 1st for Brown could add some more youth and depth there. Even with his knees plenty of teams would go a 1st, maybe even the 1st & 3rd tender.
