I'm sorry Bill I haven't seen this one yet so I can't break it down to you but Sam Rockwell is a tremendous underrated actor who probably gives a performance well worth watching.

The only thing that makes Moon worth watching IMO.

I liked it a lot. There's a somewhat predictable "twist" but figuring it out doesn't really ruin the movie.

Really cool movie. Me and my girlfriend ended up seeing it after walking out of Bruno. The sountrack is also pretty interesting.

Rockwell is great, as always.

spoiler
Moon just blew my mind. Made me think of the Prestige a bit with the multiplying of one's self. My question is, who was 1. the dark haired girl in Sam's hallucination towards the beginning and 2. Who is the old man reaching under the covers in his wife-dream-flashback?
Awesome movie!

Awesome.
I just bought this on Amazon a day or two ago. Can't wait to watch it...I've heard mostly good things on here about it.

Saw it tonight. It was alright, but nothing great imo.
*SPOILER*
Did they just clone the original Sam and then duplicate it over and over, using the same process (wake up from "accident", work, get ill, die)? My question is how did the two clones come across at the same time.....because I thought they used one clone and then right before it died, a new clone would wake up.

Okay, so I watched Moon last night. Overall, it was pretty good, but not as good as I was expecting.
Sam Rockwell was good though.
On the previous post:
Yeah. GERTY said as much when Sam asked him about being a clone. GERTY said that clones are woken up with the same general back story, and have to be given tests and whatnot to make sure they are up to par.
Because the first one was in the wreck. So the second one was awoken, and was supposed to stay in the base until help got there. But instead, he went outside to the wreck site and found the first clone, who was still alive.
I had some questions as well. Like someone said earlier, who was the girl he kept seeing?
Were the clones basically made to only last three years? Because when he looked at the old videos, seems like almost every one was sick/falling apart. So if that's the case, then when the second clone escapes back to Earth, wouldn't he basically be on a three-year timeline to live before the same thing happens?
I was assuming the hyperbaric chamber thing was actually a cremation machine/furnace. Flashes of light (fire?), ashes, the vaccuum tube, etc. Thoughts?
Also, how did he get off the moon...was the little ship that he flew out on on the base? Or was it on the big ship that arrived (the rescue team's ship)? Seems like it was on the base, because that's where he got into that little compartment. If that's the case, why did they never use that before? Seemed odd to me...
Also, I assume the original Sam was on Earth (Wiki says this is correct), because when he talks to teenage Eve, she calls for "daddy" and it sounded like Sam's voice.
Also, per Wiki, he launches back to Earth in a "helium delivery vessel." So I guess that answers that.

I really liked it a whole lot. I'd say it's the best 2009 movie I've seen so far along with Broken Embraces.

this is a fair assumption

It was the transport ship for the stuff they were sending back to earth. So yeah, the one on the base.
The other ones didn't take it because they didn't realize they were clones, but instead they all believed they were on 3 year contracts (which is apparently when the clones start breaking down). This particular situation with the wrecking of the vehicle and then two Sam Rockwells talking to each other was not the norm, obviously

Just got done watching Moon. I really liked it. Just from watching the previews I thought maybe he was just going to have cabin fever on the moon, and return to earth and have issue adapting. I really enjoyed the plot twist even though it happened way too early in the movie. But overall, I liked it and Rockwell was great in it.
