If they can get to 8 wins, that would be good. Next year's team will again only have one senior. It's the 2011-2012 team that could be a SEC contender.

We still have 6 games left. I see us winning at least 1, if not 2, of them. So, Going from 1-15/2-14, to 9-7/10-6 is a possibility.

Next year I can see Spencer moving to the 2 if Dotson doesn't improve, and Stringer starting at the point.

I think 6-10 - 9-7 is more likely next year. We'll be relying heavily on Freshman (Stringer/Derenbecker, maybe Turner).
White wasn't a superstar at Ole Miss like some believe (7.2ppg as a Sophomore), therefore I'm not sold on him yet.
Storm will still only be 6'7" next year.
And I just don't have much, if any, faith in Ludwig/Green/Harris/Bass becoming SEC-caliber players.

I think with your freshmen and your recurring depth, LSU will be able to go 6-10 next near. Thats not a bad step.

maybe a little better than 6-10 because i hear FOBBS might be our point guard.

The thing about LSU basketball is that we really don't care how they do. We look at it more as a short 2 month gap between football (2 championships this decade, chance to win every game we play) and baseball (domination). If the basketball team is good every few years we consider that a bonus.

That's the difference between us and A&M where it's a constant cycle of disappointment with fans saying "well there's always basketball season" followed by "well there's always baseball season" followed by "maybe our football team will be able to compete this year and not give up over 60 points in any single ball game". It's a cycle that seems to never end.

yeah these last couple of years have been huge letdowns for us what with losing 8 games and all. We can only dream of having seasons like you guys. You know like in 08 when you guys lost 8 games to powerhouse teams like Ark St., Baylor and K State. Yall did rebound nicely this season going 6-7 though and only managed to give up 60 points twice. But at least you have a solid recruiting class to come in and turn things arou-- wait that kinda fell apart at the end there didn't it?

At least you have a solid basketball season going to help take some of the sting off.

A&M shouldn't think they're going to win a national championship in ANY year in ANY sport because they really haven't even come close since RC Slocum left cowtown. The record of futility and the fall from grace have truly been remarkable.

I mean imagine supporting a university knowing you have literally zero chance of ever being a champion in any regard. As an LSU fan I'm glad I'll never have to go through that. The little man complex would cripple me.
