Tony Dungy is convinced his old team will win the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Dungy, who resigned as Colts coach after last season, said on Dan Patrick's radio show on Wednesday that he can't see the Saints upsetting the Colts in Sunday's Super Bowl.

"I would be absolutely shocked," Dungy said of the possibility of Indianapolis losing. "They haven't lost a game yet this year that they were trying to win."

The Colts went 14-2 in the regular season, with the two losses coming after lifting Peyton Manning and other key starters in Weeks 16 and 17.

Dungy is the second major NFL stakeholder to say he'd be shocked by the outcome of a playoff game this postseason. Vikings QB Brett Favre said before the team's divisional playoff win against Dallas that it would "be a shock" if Minnesota lost.

Dungy was the Colts' coach three years ago when the team won Super Bowl XLI. He added that he thinks the Colts should safeguard information about DE Dwight Freeney's injury status this week.

"That way New Orleans really has to think about (Freeney possibly playing)," he said. -- Sean Leahy

As pissed as I am that the national media is treating us like a UFL squad ready to take on the 1972 Dolphins, I certainly hope the team hears all of this. You don't think they're tired of hearing how great Manning is?

You don't think Greg Williams has seen the stats of himself against Manning? You can bet there will be some new defensive wrinkles in the plan.

I'm sorry, but I'll take Sean Payton and Greg Williams over Caldwell any day of the week.

Manning is mortal. And if you can't disrupt the QB by hitting him, then you disrupt his receivers. I think we're going to frick them up in that 5 yard zone.

No he wouldn't have, becasue if he was still the coach, the Colts wouldn't be in the Super Bowl.

Nowhere did Dungy say the game wouldn't be close.

Your thread title is misleading.

That's what I've been thinking. If you can't get to Manning, you take away his toys.
