Why is Jim Rome still on ESPN?

I try to avoid watching him as much as I can. I'm just caught up in the SB madness and had NFL Live on. Then, Rome comes on and blows everything out of proportion, especially the Manning-Sharper situation.

You're right. Most of them are as of late, but I don't think anyone can top Rome.

No, he said that this years media day is the weakest ever, trash talk wise, and that the most exciting thing that happened was Peyton calling Darren, Jamie. Then he starts mocking Sharper by saying it was a stupid comeback and that Peyton just made a mistake.

Well, I have to say it will be interesting watching when he hits 60 and is still trying to be down with the 20 somethings. Met him at Smith and Wollensky when he was in N.O. for the last SB. He actually wasn't that much of a dick off the air. But he more than makes up for it when he's on the air.

No what he said was that this year's media day was weak because the closest thing we had to trash talk was Manning's misstep and Sharper's joke back at him. He knew it was a joke and said he wished Buchanan and Shannon Sharp were back because their cracks at each other were great. He also said someone needs to sit Shockey, Reggie Wayne, and Vilma down and explain to all of them who they are and where they went to school and that Miami is a few blocks away and that they need to get back on the planes and come out in fatigues.
