Has anybody has success with this guys book?

Yes. I just started using his programs. It's reletively simple, but you have to really stay disciplined.

Does he sell this information?

Thats what I am hearing... I hear all these people who pay off all their debt in like 18 months.. These people talk about budgeting down to the penny every month..

He sells the tools and books. The method is easy to figure out, but the books offer help in other areas beyond the "debt snowball"

You still must have the capital to overcome the debt.

I hear him talking about the Baby Steps and the Debt Snowball generally.. Thats why I want to start his program.

It's a pretty miserable program unless you are a major tight arse. I take a few things, leave a few things from his stuff. I bought the Total Money Makeover book and like someone else said, it definitely requires serious discipline.
I enjoy eating out every once in a while, as well as gambling, so I don't follow the book step for step. I do like his stuff though, and think books like his are helpful in picking up a few pointers.

A lot of churches teach his financial peace class too. I haven't regretted using his methods.

This is pretty much the way I use it too.

Like all those kits to sell shite on ebay. I had a friend that got one (he had a lot of money so no problem to blow $60 on crap). It was real goods, but low quality stuff like cheap brand camcorders, cameras, etc. Then you would look on ebay and see the same exact product being sold by 75 different people. You would make maybe $5 at best if it sold at all.

Dave Ramsey's method:
Spend less than you make, don't piss away money and pay off as much debt as possible as soon as possible.
He's a motivator, not a financial genius.
