I’ll buy that. I’m just saying that it’s not as easy/cheap as people think to make it look like they want it to…

Also, keep in mind that if they put up a digital sign anywhere on campus it will have ads on 50% of it at least.

I bet Lamar would take care of any additional cost. Sure, everyone in BR knows Lamar is headquartered here and the connection is obvious; but on TV, when joe shmoe in Florida sees it, it just looks like some trashy highway billboard. Now, if Lamar adds a big assed lighted green oval Lamar sign on the top of it for advertising purposes, I could see why they'd want a genuine billboard.

I'd like to be cowboys from Arizona or pimps from Oakland but it's not Halloween. Grow up; Peter Pan, Count Chocula.

Didn't the old one have a sign on the back? If my memory serves, it did and the pipe was painted purple and not the tradition brown Lamar uses.
The brick and stucco and all that sounds like a terrific idea if it weren't for the fact that you really don't see it. It would be much ado about nothing.
I don't understand why people can't just make the connection between the two entities and go back to bitching about something else? It's there and it ain't going nowhere. Besides that, consider the ad space Lamar is getting for their money - have you even thought about what they are paying just to have their green nameplate on the bottom of that thing?

Coon I don't have a beef really with the scoreboard other then the back looks pretty cheap. But that's not that big of a deal.

I'm your huckleberry...
Sounds like 30 grand to me...
Compare that to what everyone else pays for the signage that they receive on the outfield wall, scoreboard, foul poles, etc and I'm betting you'll find this to be the highest price per square foot of advertising in the place.

Total cost to move Intimidator and build new support structure is around $65K. TAF picking up $36,500, Lamar donating the rest.

Everybody please send their Alex Box Stadium Scoreboard/Intimadator/Architectural/Aesthetic complaints to Alleva, Herb Vincent or Ronnie Halliburton where they might have some chance of being heard and/or acted upon......

It's just cool and a neat way to brag, if you don't think 6 NC's are intimidating then you've obviously never competed in sports, and if you have you must have not been good.
Do I need to explain the fallacy in saying that because one isn't intimidated by NC banners that one played on a bad team? One would think that it would be the opposite - good teams aren't afraid of NC banners because they have their own.

I played amateur baseball at Rickwood field in Birmingham, Alabama. The first time I hit batting practice there, I swear it felt like I should be genuflecting before and altar considering the baseball greats who stood in the very same place. So, I know having a recruit stand at home plate at Tiger Stadium should be an awesome experience as well considering.....I'm just sayin....

So, it’s gonna float in the air? Or you suspect a pipe that holds only the sign could support all of that? no base? How bout foundation/concrete/pilings/rebar? Plus all that labor. Not to mention engineering adn design costs.
You sound like an architect “oh, just do it at no cost”…
yall better watch it. You are talking to a college of engineering constuction mgt. grad from LSU. Knows all the ins and outs of bidding on jobs.
