Everyone seem to be looking at the stats and not the whole pic.. If there wasn't any stats recorded, Would any one be saying the Viking won this game even though they still lost? I think not.

We were punishing Brett Favre.
Hitting Hard on every play ..
We were looking like a pack of wolves every where the ball went, just vicious
Forced 4 out of 5 turnovers
Score more points
even committed 9 penalties

And still came out Victorious

If it wasn't for stats being recorded would the Vikings have anything else in their defense.

The only thing anyone would be remembering is how Brett Favre was being pounded and how Vicious the Saints' Defense looked.

Why is it so hard to give the Saints credit for a well planned game.

Because that's what the talking heads on ESPN keep talking about. If it had been the other way around all you'd be hearing about is how Brett Favre found a way to win even when his team wasn't playing their best, and how the Vikings playmaking defense was so great by causing all the turnovers.

Screw em. When someone tells me that I just say: "That's great you feel that way." and "The Saints are in the Superbowl."

That's the thing that really pissed me off about Childress after the game, how he was saying "I think we had the better team" and blah blah blah. News flash bitch: the better team always wins. Hmmm, how does the better team not have a better record than the team they lost to, anyway? frick you sore losing Vikings. There's no crying in football.

It reminds me of the Alabama / Texas MNC game.

Bama knocked that pug nosed bitch out of the game. Then they won.

That doesn't "cheapen" the win. That doesn't tarnish their legacy.

Battering the opposing QB is fricking legit - it's what the defense is supposed to do.

Speaking of hitting hard, Payton gave out bats, black i believe before the cards game, purple for the vikes game, will he give them out again for the Big Dance? Why not? keep the streak going with the bats and motivational videos/speakers. he had Gruden and Ronie Lott in the locker room. he had Kenny Chesney after at Ruth's Chris also. That deal about showing the motivational video highlights from other great games then the lights coming on and Lott was standing there with a purple bat was awesome indeed.

Special Teams and Turnovers are part of the equation that is not being mentioned.

Total Offense Minny wins 475-257
Return Yards NO wins 183-33
Interception Yardage NO wins 29-0

Total - Minny 508 NO 469

If Favre weren't the QB, the media would have moved on.

If you were the better team then you wouldn't turn the ball over 6 times. Teams that want to win titles protect the ball. Minnesota couldn't. Minnesota should have ran the ball 100 times in that game. I realize they had several fumbles but the way their defense slowed the saints offense the Vikings offense only had to run the ball. Their coach didn't do what it took to win. We had the better coach, our defense forced turnovers, we scored when we needed too. All those things tell me that we were the better team.

This. By definition. The game is played to WIN, not to run up stats.

I think it's because the media isn't used to the Saints at this level. Favre has this respect; he is supposed to be a winner. The Saints are supposed to be just a feel good story.

With a few more years of this kind of play, and the media won't be saying this kind of trash.

It is hard for them to understand the most important stat, we had 31 of them, Minn had 28 of them.

I would agree with him and say they have a better team... but they don't have playmakers.

Brees > Favre
Our CB > Their CB
Darren > Any Safety they got
Our WR = Theirs
Vilma > All of their LB (not combined)

But total they have a really balanced team and if you look at stats besides QB they probably win.
But frick stats. You fumble the ball 6 times and throw 2 picks and your not gonna win. And thats a stat that everyone doesn't wanna look at right now, how our defense causes turnovers.
