re: JJ has played awesome this year

ETA granted JJ has come around but there was nothing except the bama game that lee messed up. and JJ didnt do shite in that game either so why pull lee?

JJ didn't do shite? There was a reason JJ was the starter at the beginning of the season before he got messed over, and JL showed that reason in the Bama game. If you couldn't see that, then you must have been one of the many "fans" who turned away in disgust and only bitched and moaned about JL being taken out of the game instead of actually watching what JJ did on the field that warranted his replacing Lee.

To me, both players have their strengths and weaknesses. Lee is better at running a precision offense and an up-tempo style play because he has the quicker release. Jefferson has the advantage in plays that take a little longer to develop because he isn't afraid to stay in the pocket longer to allow the receivers to get open. Granted, sometimes he misses his window, but he can extend the play with his legs and he doesn't have happy feet syndrome like Lee. Either way, both of these kids wear purple and gold, and I'm rooting for both when they're on the field.

Lee has his demons against Alabama. that is no secret. its also not a reason to just disregard everything else he has done the entire season and bow down to Jefferson who has never proved himself to be worth all of the hype in the first place. Jefferson deserves props for not turning the ball over in that game, but that's about it. a Jordan Jefferson led LSU offense is doomed.

Not disregarding anything he's done at all. As a matter of fact, I'm happy for the success he's had. Unlike a lot of the tards that post here, I root for both JL and JJ, because their success is LSU's success. What too many people don't realize -- yourself included, it seems -- is that the more prepared both these QB's are then the better it is for the team. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Lee start at either Ole Miss or against Arkansas, but to say that LSU is doomed if JJ starts is, quite frankly, abject stupidity and shows a gross lack of knowledge of football. Miles is using both these QB's how and when he needs to. When one proves ineffective, the other goes in. You can't deny that Lee has a propensity of throwing off his back foot, especially when under pressure. Give me the 6'5", 235lb QB that can stay in the pocket a little longer and not be afraid to take a hit.
Just like we were doomed with him at Alabama? He didn't start, but he sure as shite saved our arse.

Go ahead and be a cheerleader for Happy Feet Lee all you want, you're entitled to your own opinion no matter how little football acumen you display.

Again, this is the coaching staff. All mechanics. I was listening to After Further Review one day while driving home, and the guest host (Matt Moscona was away) properly dissected JJ mechanics. He stands too upright in the pocket and doesn't have his leading shoulder pointed towards his intended receiver. By the time he makes these corrections, his target has taken up to three extra steps before the ball is even released, and often that is the only window of opportunity to receive the pass.

Lee's problem, and boy have we seen it too often with our hearts in our throats, is that he chucks the ball up the field blindly when there is a defender bearing down on him. He doesn't try to evade the tackle first and then get rid of the ball if no one is open.
It's fricked up and predictable play calling when Jefferson is in. Period. Sometimes he keeps it too long, sometimes the line doesn't give him nearly enough time to let the play develop. At other times, it's just that opposing defenses know what's coming and take away JJ's options so he has no choice but to scramble. The coaching staff can call the same safe throws they call for JL instead of having him run, run, then try to throw on 3rd and long just to get the 1st down. Too fricking predictable. Our best chance of moving the ball vertically is when Lee is in the game, anyway.

I'm not one to favor one QB over the other. Truth is, they both deserved second chances, they were just in a situation where neither could afford to ruin their first chance. However, at this point, Lee has had the greater opportunity to develop by being on the sideline more. He gets to see what works and what doesn't, without suffering the repercussions first hand of botched plays. He was always a better passer than JJ, but JJ made better decisions when he did pass (and pass on time, that is). Play calling and clock management by the coaches, though, has always been the Achilles heel of these QB's and this team.

We all know what will happen if, no, WHEN, LSU destroys UNC. The media will credit our victory to the horrible UNC offense and our superior talent, that this was a game we were supposed to win.

I love how all the other teams with second-year starting QB's get an automatic upgrade from the media, whereas JJ still has all these question marks. Like these other QB's should be better this year and provide much better leadership, but somehow JJ is incapable of improving after his first full year under center. In spite of questionable offensive calls (to put it mildly) and sub-par O-line protection, he finished the year with pretty good numbers: 61.5 completion percentage and a 137.18 passer rating. Not too shabby.

I could swear it was Zinger. I remember being pissed b/c we used our blocking TE to catch and our receiving TE to block. I could be wrong, though.
Wow. A Vanderbilt fan wanting a Vanderbilt QB is all this is. Cutler is just like his alma mater: just when it seems he's going to have a good season... meh, not so much. Stick with your losing ways, loser.
That's the thing that really pissed me off about Childress after the game, how he was saying "I think we had the better team" and blah blah blah. News flash bitch: the better team always wins. Hmmm, how does the better team not have a better record than the team they lost to, anyway? frick you sore losing Vikings. There's no crying in football. :doublebird:

I thought Grant tore a muscle (triceps?) and was out for the remainder of the season.

OMG! We're playing UNC! We're gonna get destroyed! :wah:

Seems like you and nearly everyone else seem to forget that these very young men hardly, if at all, slept the night before. Many of them had family members staying with them in already small quarters and they were helping out with the PMAC being converted to a triage center. The huge physical and emotional toll this took on our players was evident in the second half. That we reached the SECCG was amazing in and of itself.
