Looking for suggestions for places in Baton Rouge that has healthy dishes

Looking for ideas that do not have pastas, use alot of butter, fried, ect.

I know that sushi is pretty healthy but I have a tough time finding (thinking about) other healthy dishes (low fat, calories ect.)

If anyone has some suggestions would be appreciated trying to find new places to eat while trying to eat healthy.

Lebanese can be a decent option. Hummus is a fairly healthy dish along w/ wheat tortillas and chicken.

i stick to salads with dressing on the side..most places have them.

not the tastiest/satisfying meal on the menu..but i remind myself i can make the other stuff at home and KNOW whats going into it.

you can get a grilled chicken breast at just about any sit down restaurant on top of a salad. just realize that their chicken breast is probably soaked in butter and more than 8 oz. get a vinaigrette on the side. i ask for a box with my meal and cut everything in half so im not tempted to eat it since its not on the plate.

also, ask the kitchen if they can grill it with just the spices. no butter. it will lower the calorie count.

same goes with grilled fish lunch plates. sub the sides for steamed veggies or a side salad (with dressing on the side). its very common for calorie counters to dine out. servers are used to these requests.

IF you stay away from the gyros, yes. Tabouli, fattoush, I seem to remember most having decent broiled seafood options.

when i'm trying to eat healthy, the first 2 places i cross off my list are chinese and mexican. they just...suck. i cant control myself with chips and green sauce and there's nothing "healthy" about broccoli coated with sweet & sour sauce

i know what you mean. if i am going to lunch by myself, i can ask for no chips and salsa and one flour tortilla with the meal, but its hopeless if i am dining with other people who want chips.

usually the only thing you can find are boring chicken dishes. i like to order fish when i can.

kids menus are the worst. EVERYTHING is fried. if someone in BR would open up a healthy restaurant, i think they could really bring some people in.

I can find Steak and Veggies pretty much anywhere. Works for me.
I just tell the staff to make sure they use REAL butter instead of that disgusting processed veggie oil.
