What is the story on this guy. What position is he expected to play at LSU?

Legacy offer expected to play center . Could be told to greyshirt, highly doubtful though.

This makes it seem like he got in only because his father/uncle/ etc... were LSU players.
That is highly unfair to him because in this day and age of instant and constant gratification I don't think coaches would risk any of the 85 offers for continuing a family tradition.
They must have seen some potential in him equal to or greater than of the existing recruits and/or current players.

I know he's being recruited to play center but a lot of scouts are impressed with his athletic ability and speed. At the O-D bowl he was impressive at te during the practices. With Jacobs getting very big then there has to be a chance that Fordham might stay at TE for a year or 2.Honestly don't know but I think it's a possibility.

The next undersized center for LSU.

brilliant, actually.
He will play center, but will be designated as an eligible receiver. On some plays he will let the NT/DT bull rush past him and then will catch the screen pass. The center screen-- the passing version of the fumblerooski. Learn to love it.

Why are yous bashing one of our own?

All of you are idiots - pure morons if you think this kid was offered because his family has LSU ties. He is strong, agile, athletic and aggressive and was offered because he has ability. Quit putting down a 17 year old kid.

i dont think anyone is bashing him personally
but when you look at his offer list, it makes you wonder. its a valid concern too

The guy's dad played at LSU. Did you ever think that other schools knew he was a virtual lock to go to LSU and thus didn't offer him?

i dont know
sending a guy a letter offering him a scholarship isnt hard

True, but say Saban wanted him but he knew Fordham wagoing to LSU once an offer came to him. Saban would not want to have the services report that Miles beat him out on a kid he wanted.

While I agree that we all question the recruiting of Fordham, you can also look at Tyrann Mathieu's offer list and it's not that impressive either, but we all know he is a great athlete.
I think Fordham's family history helps, but I also think he becomes a valuable member of the team and he may or may not see the field. Regardless, he is a LSU Tiger and I will support him.

The thought of a center/tight end hybrid amused me and I was just being silly. I was not trying to bash-- apologies if taken that way.
I don't personally have anything against Fordham. While I check this board a couple times a day, I rarely look at film and don't have an opinion as to Fordham's merits. I don't have any expectations that LSU should recruit nothing but 4* and 5* uber-talents; and I am all for recruiting kids like Fordham and others if they fill a role. As someone else has opined, Fordham may end up a long snapper, maybe a tight end. If he gets on the field and makes plays well, I'll cheer for him-- whatever his role is and however many stars he was out of high school.

So do we want the coaching staff to decide who fits us best or do we want 3 or 4 guys that sell their opinion on the internet for $10/month to decide who we try to sign.
